Save an article with a summary

Share a web page to BijaVault from your browser to save its title and URL. If you are signed in, a summary of the article is added later.

Bookmarks don’t tell you what was in the article

On the way to work you read an article that looks useful. You bookmark it to read again later. A few weeks later your bookmarks are a list of titles, and you can’t remember what any of them said.

Save it from the browser’s Share button

With the article open, tap your browser’s Share button and choose BijaVault. The “Save to BijaVault” screen opens with the article’s title and URL already filled in. Tap Save and you’re done.

If something in the article caught your eye, add a line in the Note field on the same screen. That line is what reminds you later why you saved the page.

The summary is added when you open the app

The saved note appears in your list the next time you open BijaVault. If you are signed in and have agreed to use AI, a summary of the article is added to the end of the note at that point, and a description and tags are added at the top. If there was no connection, BijaVault tries again the next time you open it, up to three times.

To make the summary, the URL of the page you shared goes through the BijaVault server. The server stores neither the URL nor the page’s content.

The summary is searchable like the rest of the note. You can find the article by words that appear in the summary, even if you don’t remember its title.

What it doesn’t do

The note holds the title, the URL, and the summary. The full text of the article is not copied in. No summary is added when you are not signed in, when your AI allowance is used up, or when the page’s content can’t be read. The note then keeps the title, the URL, and your line. If you edit the note yourself before the summary arrives, no summary is added.

Links from YouTube, Audible, and a few other services are saved with the title, the URL, and your line. No summary is made for them.

What you need

Saving from the Share button requires either a subscription or three days of access unlocked by watching an ad, the same as writing a new note. Summaries are added only while you are signed in, have agreed to use AI, and have AI allowance left.
